DVI port not working is an issue that could develop over some time or suddenly. Sometimes, the port may be working fine, but the connection system or cable may be the issue; whatever case it may be, you can rely on specific troubleshooting options to resolve the issue and get your port working back. When a DVI port is faulty, the display connected to the port via the cables will be dark or give wobbly images. The DVI port is essential for enhanced gaming and other non-gaming-related activities on your screen.

The DVI port is not working because of software-related issues. It may also be a result of a faulty cable or damaged ports.

So, What Could Be the Reason Why DVI Port is Not Working?

Fixing The DVI Port Problems

1. Test Your Monitor with Another Computer

There are many DVI driver updates out there, and if you don’t keep up, your DVI port may develop connection issues. If you can set automatic updates for your DVI ports, there should be no need to perform manual updates.

3. To update your DVI port manually

Go to the computer’s property menu and click on the “Properties” button in the dialog, then type your administrator’s password if prompted.

Click on the “Continue” button, and the display adaptor’s property box will be displayed on the screen.

Click on the “driver” tab, then check the last date of your update.

If your update is older than six months, you may manually search for the current updates. If you don’t find any update, updating the software may not be the issue with your DVI port. This does not mean you should not update even if it will not resolve the problem- Click all updates and apply updates manually.

Click on the “Update Driver” button to update the ideal update associated with your DVI and display port. If the update driver option appears, click on “Search automatically for updated driver software.” Once you click an update on manufacturer software, you can check for the update status by clicking on “Browse my computer for driver software”- this will automatically update the software for you.

While your computer is searching for updates, you should avoid doing anything on it. A dialog box should appear after the computer has found the necessary updates. If there is no need to update, you will see the “no update” prompt on the screen. If your automatic update option is on, you will receive a notification that your DVI software has been updated.

Close all windows that are opened while the update is on. Restart your computer if necessary and see if the DVI port works with the connected components.

DVI Issues And Wrong Connection
