Jailbreaking is the process of removing restrictions imposed on a device. This can be done to gain more control of the device but can also be used to add additional functionality. Jailbreaking a Firestick is possible but not recommended.
It can open the door to an endless variety of problems and may not even be worth the hassle. Instead, it is best to stick with the standard interface and avoid jailbreaking. If you are considering jailbreaking a Firestick, keep in mind that it is against the terms of service for Amazon.
Therefore, it is unlikely that you will be able to return the device if anything goes wrong. Jailbreaking also voids the warranty so that you would be unable to get a replacement if anything were to break. Not only that but if you decide to sell your device, it will likely be worth less than if it were unjailbroken.
Deregister Amazon Account On Jailbroken Firestick
If your Amazon Fire TV Stick has been jailbroken, then it’s possible to deregister the device using the ADB (Android Debug Bridge) tool.
The easiest way to do this is by plugging your device into a PC and using ADB to issue the following command:
adb shell amazon-deregister device ID>
If your device is connected over Wifi and you have access to the network credentials, then you can use the following command instead:
adb shell amazon-deregister device ID> –apn APN> –user USER> –pass PASS>
Where device ID> is the unique identifier for your Amazon Fire TV Stick and APN> is the name of your mobile provider’s APN.
If you are using a modified version of Android TV software, then you can remove Amazon Prime Video from Google Play Store by uninstalling it from Settings > Apps > Google Play Store.
This will not remove Amazon Prime Video from your Fire TV Stick but will prevent future updates. Alternatively, you can also uninstall Amazon Prime Video from Settings > Apps > Manage Installed Apps > Amazon Prime Video. This will not remove Amazon Prime Video from your Fire TV Stick but will prevent future updates.
How Do I Unlink My Amazon Firestick?
If you have an Amazon FireStick and want to unlink it from your Amazon account, you can do so with a few simple steps. First, simply hold down the home button on your FireStick remote for about five seconds. This will bring up a prompt asking if you want to unlink this device from your Amazon account.
Simply select “Yes” and you should be good to go. This will unlink the device from your Amazon account, allowing you to use it with a different account if you’d like.
